A Gas Leak Causes an “Eye of Fire” in the Gulf of Mexico
A gas leak from an undersea pipeline sparked a massive inferno on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, and video of the incident has now gone popular on social media. The flames were soon called the “eye of fire” by the media, and the flames erupting from the water surface resembled molten lava.
To contain the roaring blaze, many boats were called into duty to spray streams of water on the “eye of fire.” It has been learned that nitrogen was utilized to put out the fire. The massive fire was ultimately brought under control after five hours, according to reports.
