Stunt Pilot Flies Through Tunnels Sets World Record

Dario Costa of Italy, a professional race and stunt pilot, opened a new chapter in aviation history when he flew a raceplane over the restricted limits of two enclosed vehicle tunnels just outside Istanbul shortly after dawn on Saturday, September 4 2021.

Costa performed a difficult takeoff within the first tunnel, flashed through an open-air gap, and continued his 245kph flight into the second tunnel, flying less than 1m from the asphalt, all in near-darkness and close proximity to the concrete arc of the walls.
